Job Description:
Responsibilities:
• Consult with architects, engineers, builders, contractors, suppliers and project owners
• Analyze architectural and engineering drawings and specifications in order to prepare a 'Bill of Quantities', which itemizes the individual components (materials, labour etc) required to construct the project
• Monitor changes to designs, assess effects on cost, and measure, value and negotiate variations to designs
• Evaluate and monitor payment to contractors at various points of construction
• Undertake feasibility studies to assist in decisions about the worth of a project proceeding
• allocating work to subcontractors;
• providing advice on contractual claims;
• analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
• valuing completed work and arranging payments;
• maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use;
• Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
